"Devon and Me" is a division of Designs By Devon, INC, which started as an accessory business (wine charms) in 2001 by my son, Devon, who was in seventh grade at the time. A few years later, with Devon's guidance, I expanded it into women's belts, flip flops, tank tops and more. We started as a wholesale business, selling to boutiques, resorts and spas nationwide and then, due to strong demand, we began having home shows and trunk shows in various locations throughout Winter Park and South Florida. Our primary business is creating unique clothing and accessory items that are sold in upscale boutiques, spas, resorts, and private schools nationwide.
In 2007, my 15 year old daughter, Morgan Elizabeth wanted to become a part of the business and introduced our organic line of tanks and tees. We then became Devon and Me (for Morgan Elizabeth and Mother Earth!)
I am the owner of the company and a "stay at home" mom with three children. I grew up in Fort Lauderdale, FL and graduated from FSU in 1975 with a fashion merchandising major. During that era, most women (including me) were in college for their MRS. degree, but since that did not go as planned, I thought a merchandising major sounded like fun. My oldest son, Devon, is a junior in the business school at University of Virginia. Trevor, 19, is a freshman, at the business school at University of Texas at Austin. My daughter, Morgan is a senior at Winter Park High and plans to attend Baylor University in Texas, next year. My husband, Larry, was a professional golfer on the PGA Tour for 20 years, and is currently pursuing the Senior (Champions) Tour. He commentates for the PGA Tour on XM radio, and during the winter months, is a golf pro at Riomar Country Club in Vero Beach, FL.
